TIM BURTON INSPIRED MILL AT FINE CREEK WEDDING
Tricks, treats, and [my own] smelly feet after I got in the water during portrait time...
Those are just some of the elements that created this spectacular one-of-a-kind wedding day for Sara and Bryce!
As I wrote previously, I was so looking forward to this wedding for many reasons. Sara & Bryce are super fun to work with, make me laugh, and are such a joy to be around. As you get to know these two, two things becomes clearer and clearer still: Sara and Bryce love each other A WHOLE LOT, and they love their families A WHOLE LOT. And their friends? They're basically family, too.
I've met a lot of beautiful families; some that are kind, warm, clearly love their children, and are proud of where they've all ended up. I have to say though, these two families are something special. They're so open and welcoming, and couldn't be happier for Sara and Bryce.
I knew that the day wouldn't look like other weddings I have previously worked on, and that excited me. I also discovered that I had the opportunity to work with vendors I enjoy working with, respect, and admire. (I was especially pumped to see what Sweet Fix whipped up for their cake!) An added bonus was getting to work at The Mill at Fine Creek-- an exceptional venue, for sure!
With elements from Tim Burton films and the mood of the Halloween season, the day--from beginning to end--was one I won't soon forget.
Certainly the most creative 'something blue' I've ever seen was this blue butterfly, inspired by a scene from The Corpse Bride, which Sara had attached to her dress just before the ceremony. I loved that detail so much!
I also couldn't get enough of Sara's aunt who came all the way from Nairobi. Each time she looked at Sara she would start crying. Their relationship is incredibly close, and it was incredibly touching to witness.
Sara & Bryce's ceremony music was unconventional and one of my favorite parts of the day. With songs chosen by The XX and Future Islands, the ceremony was made all the more personal. But when Sara began walking into that gorgeous light to Lovedrug's Girl, it was breathtaking.
Those stinky feet? Totally worth it to get these gorgeous shots.
I thought these custom-drawn portraits of Sara and Bryce were an adorable, personalized detail that was so fun and whimsical!
Thank, thank, THANK YOU to everyone who made this day so wonderful!
Sara & Bryce,
