STYLE & APPROACH

My photography is greatly influenced by photojournalism (documentary photography) though I do understand the importance of creatively highlighting pertinent details of your day, preserving legacies through family formals, and capturing gorgeous, naturally posed portraits which highlight your emotions and romance. My primary focus will always be on documenting authentic moments-- the seconds in time that separate your wedding day from everyone else's. This is achieved by remaining unobtrusive, so that your day may be as genuine as you. That being said, from first contact, I strive to get to know who you are and what your vision of your day is.  I feel it's incredibly important to build our relationship well before your wedding day, so that I am able to best serve you, and to provide you with timeless images that showcase the subtle nuances of you, your love, your life.

I go in-depth a bit more about my style and how I work here

Do you edit each image?

Yes! Each image I send out is especially edited. I do not use "actions" or other tools to create a uniformed look to all of my work.

COVERAGE

How much do you charge?
First thing's first: I DO NOT VIEW YOU AS A PACKAGE! For me, your wedding isn't a destination I arrive to and "clock in" for. Your wedding is an experience for me, and I'd like to offer an experience for you as well! I do not offer generic packages for everyone, as my clients truly are anything but "just anyone". For destination weddings, location and travel come into play, which also make offering an across-the-board price nearly impossible. (For example, a wedding in New York wouldn't be the same price as a wedding in Beijing!) Send me an email, and we can get started creating a customized collection that is tailored to your preferences!

Note: I do offer services by the hour. Please contact me for my hourly rate.

Do you offer engagement sessions?

I offer a complimentary engagement session (or "pre wedding session" for those out of the VA/DC/Outer Banks region) with each client who books at least eight hours of wedding day coverage.

 Who is your second shooter?
In 2016, my husband Logan joined me as my designated second shooter.

How many pictures will I receive?
Your online gallery will be completely dependent on YOUR event. Many factors go into the exact amount of images produced and therefore delivered to you. The type of event is one major factor contributing to the amount of finished images you receive. Other factors include the number of guests (subjects) and the hours of coverage you've commissioned me for. A good estimate would be approximately 50 images for every hour of work.

When will I see my photos?

I guarantee each traditional wedding gallery will be delivered within four weeks.

Do we get the RAW and/or unedited files?

Nope. It's as simple as that!

Do you offer discounts?

Sometimes! Please contact me to discuss details.

where do you work?

2017 TRAVEL DATES

MARCH 2017 -- CHARLESTON, SC; GAINESVILLE, FL

JULY 2017 -- PUNTA CANA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Where do you live?

I currently call Hampton Roads, Virginia home, but am available for travel worldwide.

Will you travel to my wedding?
OF COURSE! Travel is a passion of mine, and I prefer work as a destination photographer, which means that you can trust that I am experienced in business travel. I've been blessed to have traveled to photograph weddings and other events in Abu Dhabi, San Francisco, Miami, Denver, Las Vegas, Washington DC, and Kiawah Island, South Carolina.  If you are interested in booking me for your international destination wedding, I recommend booking me as far in advance as you possibly can. Countries such as Angola, India, Russia, China, Brazil, and Bhutan have a lengthy and sometimes involved visa process.

How about traveling for an engagement session?
You bet! I will travel for any session, all you have to do is contact me so we can discuss the details and set it up!  I am also available for commercial photography worldwide. Please check out my portfolio, and email me for details regarding commercial opportunities/collaborations.

How is travel managed?
All transport is arranged and booked by me, including airfare and, if needed, car rental, based on an approved price from you. I seek out the best deals while traveling, with careful consideration given to both parties. Rest assured, I won't be flying first-class with buckets of champagne surrounding me on the way to the destination! I ask that you book my lodging where all other wedding guests are staying. Other travel expenses will be billed separately, to be reimbursed after the wedding day.

When do we meet?
For all clients living in the Hampton Roads area (or within 25 miles), we will set up a face-to-face consult as soon as you're ready!  At that meeting, we will discuss who you and your fiance are, what you're looking for, and whether or not we're a match! For everyone else, a face-to-face meeting, while lovely, isn't imperative. It's understood that for a destination wedding, in-person meetings probably won't work, and that's OK! While all details and concerns can be dealt with quickly and efficiently through email, I'm always, always happy to set up a telephone date or Google Hangout. No matter where in the world you reside, I will find a time that works for us all in order to do this. It's so much fun!

BUSINESS

Are you licensed and insured?
Absolutely! I can provide proof of insurance to you or your venue; I simply ask for an advanced notice of at least one month.

Do you use professional gear?
I use Canon professional camera bodies, lenses, and external lighting. I also like to play around and experiment frequently, so I bring along goodies to help me achieve something extra-special for you! I also make sure to bring backup... just in case!

GETTING STARTED

How far in advance should we book you?

In the last year, I have been booking weddings up to a year and a half prior to the wedding. Due to this, I suggest booking as soon as possible. I do not book more than 18 months in advance.

How do we reserve our date?

To reserve a date, a nonrefundable deposit of $1,000 is due. I do not hold dates without a deposit.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! I am able to work closely with you to create a payment plan that suits your needs, with the balance to be paid by one month prior to the wedding.

I'm ready to book! What do I do?

Email or give me a call! All inquiries should be returned within one business day.
